My sister told me about old men in Shanghai who take their caged pet birds to the park for socializing each morning. That led me to thinking about Facebook, Twitter, e-mail and all the ways we network now without actually seeing each other in person. This 13” x 15” wall piece combines original digital embroidery with traditional techniques. Instead of old Chinese men, I decided to do old Jewish women, but the sentiment is the same--being together is best.
